Half Day Snorkel Trip on Reefs in the Florida Keys

Overview

Come join us snorkeling some of the most beautiful reefs within the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary and Pennekamp State Park. We have many possible reefs to explore: Molasses, Elbow, French Reef and the famous Christ of the Abyss on Dry Rocks. These protected areas offer an opportunity to see turtles, spotted eagle rays, moray eels and a variety of different fish. These special reefs are part of the 3rd largest living reef system in the world and the ONLY living coral reef in the US. We stop at two different locations on the reef. Each stop is determined by the captain based on the day's conditions. We cannot guarantee any specific site.

In an effort to reduce the amount of single-use plastic that ends up in our oceans, we recommend bringing a reusable water bottle. We have water coolers in our shop and on our boats for your convenience!

Our car broke down just as we were on our way to this tour, but the company quickly rescheduled us for the next morning, their flexibility was much appreciated. The tour was very professionally run. There were about 33 people on the boat (which had room for more), almost all snorkelling with just a couple of divers. The tour provided masks, snorkels and fins. There was water and reef safe sun block available on the boat. As well as a big dry box for storage. The trip starts with a 20-30 min trip to the first stop, which for us was the reef with the underwater statue of the Christ. However this was pretty crowded. There was still lots of sea life & coral to see though. After about 50 mins at that site we had 5 minute trip to Horseshoe reef where we had another 50 min snorkel. This site was teeming with fishes. All in all the tour was very well organised and we’d gladly go again (the couple next to us were trying to get seats on the next trip!)
