I first took this tour in November 2013 and Dan was our tour guide. I had friends coming in town from Michigan and California for New Years, and I knew there was no way they could leave Lexington, Kentucky without taking a trip with Thoroughbred Heritage Horse Farms. If you are able to, I highly recommend asking for Dan as your tour guide. We were fortunate to get him a SECOND time and he was even better than I remembered (which is saying a lot- because he was FANTASTIC the first time). He keeps an entertaining tour the entire time and has great interpersonal skills with each person he takes aboard the bus! He is completely knowledgeable when it comes to each farm and the rich history and culture of the Blue Grass state! I have lived here over twenty years and he informed me of things I never knew about my old Kentucky home! My friends left completely satisfied and in awe of what an incredible investment this tour was- in both their money and their time! I hope to have more experiences with this company and TOUR MAN DAN!!

Everything about the tour was set perfectly. It wasn't too long, it wasn't boring, and we got to see many horses. Tour man Dan is a gem. He really set the mood and excitement for the trip. As soon as we left the parking lot I felt like I was at a Disney Safari. Dan began telling us the history of how horses even got here and then to racing. He has extensive knowledge of the area and the farm's horses. I just moved to Lexington and know nothing about horses and I was able to follow everything that Dan was saying. We got to go trackside at the Keeneland race coarse and even feed carrots to some racing legends at Old Friends horse "retirement home" and sanctuary like Gulch, Seabiscuit, and Silver Charm. Overall it was a wonderful, informative, and fun tour. If you can ask for Dan!

Tour man Dan was our tour guide and I never thought I'd have that much fun in Kentucky learning about horses. He hit it off so well from beginning to end and knew so much! He was funny and kind. If you're in Kentucky you must take this tour and request tour man Dan! Also, dress warm of it's in the winter! I'm from California and I will promote this!
