In my never-to-be-humble opinion, to attempt to get a legitimate understanding of Lexington horse farm on one's own would be futile at best. We left with a depth and breadth of information we would not have had otherwise. The difference-maker was Thoroughbred Tours and our guide Dan. We were picked up promptly in the company van. Dan soon announced to us that he would model part of our tour after the tv show "Cash Cab." His wealth of information seemed limitless, but it is his true passion for the sport of horseracing that is his biggest strength. As we drove by Calumet Farms and many others, there was one anecdote after another. We also visited the racetrack and were fortunate enough to cross paths with the President, who greeted us warmly and knew Dan well. Our last stop was at the farm of a friend of Dan's who actually let us pat these magnificent animals. The ride back to the pick-up point featured an informal quiz. It is clear Dan is following his passion, and it seems clear to me that there could be no better tour. My husband and I enjoyed it immensely!
