Overview

During your time on Kauai, enjoy a three-hour guided kayak and snorkel tour along the picturesque Hanalei River and in Hanalei Bay, which is home to the beautiful Bay Reef Lagoon. Admire the dramatic Makana Peak (Bali Hai) and get up close to tropical reef fish. As you kayak along the river, you’ll be surrounded by lush trees and diverse wildlife. Learn about the flora and fauna of the surrounding area from your naturalist guide, and enjoy a snorkel in the turquoise waters of the lagoon.

Please bring the following items: sun protection, light shirt, bathing suit, footwear for the beach (tabis, aqua socks or tennis shoes), towel and change of clothes

EACH CHILD 12 AND UNDER MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT.
Guests much be comfortable in the ocean. Smaller waves during certain times of the year.

Fun group of people our tour guide, Hawaiin Brian, was so very knowledgeable and spirited. The hike was beautiful and the swim at the waterfalls was refreshing. A memorable experience of a lifetime

Jay was incredibly informative in the drive up to the river and Steve and Jay were awesome tour guides during the paddle and snorkel!

Aloha Carol, Actually overlooked, but the drive up from our Wailua River Marina location, where you checked in, to the staging are in Hanalei is "a tour in itself". This is a great experience for people and families of varying levels of skill and experience — from none to plenty. One of our paddlers has Parkinson’s, and was able to do this trip. Another has guided other ocean kayak trips. The trip easily accommodated both levels, and held everyone’s interest. We had the trip to ourselves (minimum, I think is 5), which of course, was great for us. Jay was a great guide, with a wealth of interesting knowledge about Hawaiian culture, language, and the environment. Easy upstream paddle; easy downstream float. Saw green turtle under our boats at this point. Had lunch on Hanalei beach, and then went snorkeling. One of us swam with another turtle, and another had a lifetime experience snorkeling. Be advised. the trip itself is 4 hours, but people gather at Wailue first, so if you have a drive from the south that will add to the time, because then the whole group drives to the put-in on Hanalei river, which is another 45 minutes, added on either side of 4 hours. Worth it.
