Hasidic Williamsburg Walking Tour in New York City

Overview
This tour is a little-known gem in Hasidic Williamsburg, led by Frieda Vizel, who was raised in the Satmar Hasidic Jewish sect. The tour aims to bring you to a deeper, humanizing understanding of Haisidic life. Groups are small so visitors can get to know each other, and the tour price includes food stops and audio equipment!

Frieda gave an excellent tour of Hasidic Williamsburg. The tour was conduct with a great deal of respect for the community and sincerity.

Frieda was very nice and appeared to be very keen to provide an objective image of the jewish community (despite her background with regard to the community). Frieda informs you of the history of the Chassidic jews in the community and the history of the Chassidic jews in general. The tour also appeared to be somewhat of a ‘food-tour’, because we stopped at a a bakery for Challa (special Shabbas bread - very tasty!) and treats and later on at Gottliebs for different Jewish dishes. Would definitely recommend this tour if you’re interested in learning about the Chassidic community in NYC.

The tour was beyond fascinating! A small glimpse into this very insular group, which is a mystery to the rest of the world and most Jewish people. Frieda is such a unique individual with her own special story - not to be missed! I have spread the word amongst my friends and relatives and will take the tour again, when next I find myself in New York.
