Take a hike out to Halema’uma’u crater overlook (keanakekoi). Walk through famous Thurston Lava Tube (Nahuku). And experience a personal facial at the steam vent attractions.

Akatsuka Orchid Gardens

**Not always available - location has a modified schedule, open WEDNESDAYS & FRIDAYS from 10:00am-3:00pm, taking a short break for lunch between 12:00-12:30** See the blooming display of orchids and cut flowers. While there, stop in and browse through their unique gift shop. You’re sure to find that special gift for that special someone on your list!

Our drive around visit to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park with Malahini Tours exceeded all expectations. Driver Dan was wonderful, full of local insights, Hawaiian language tutorials, and legends. Well worth the price!! The tour included Hilo Coffee Mill where we learned about growing and roasting great Java and Mauna Loa Macadamia Corp where we sampled several flavored varieties of the nuts and learned how they are processed with minimal waste. We also stopped at Akatsuka Orchid Garden where they've developed thousands of new orchid varieties. While there, our driver Dan provided fresh-cut pineapple and lychee for lunch.

From the first time I contacted them to our drop off at the airport at the end of our tour everything was absolutely the best, also you can rest comfortably knowing your tour guide is actually from Hawaii and has the knowledge and the reverence for these sacred and beautiful places! If we are ever lucky enough to visit Hawaii again we would definitely use them again!

Aloha Kelly. It was great having you folks on tour. It was a little cold and wet but it turned out great. I'm glad we could accommodate the airport/flights, as we know island hoping can be difficult with timing. I sure hope you folks come back and explore more of the Big Island (Hawaii island). This tour was amazing. We were from the Norwegian Cruise ship and their tours were mega expensive so we decided to take up the offer of a free trip to the Rainbow waterfall from the tour guides on the dock. On the way back we were offered a tour up to the Volcano National park for $65 each which was half the price of the cruise ship. We don't carry cash so paid by card and James our guide was brilliant. Would highly recommend if you don't want to be ripped off by the cruise ship high prices.
