Helicopter Glacier Dogsled Tour + Lower Glacier Landing - ANCHORAGE AREA

Overview
The ultimate multi activity package: a helicopter tour, a dogsled tour and a landing on the lower glacier to explore the melt pools and crevasses.

Start this adventure with a spectacular helicopter ride over glaciers and icebergs. We often see moose, black bears, Dall sheep and mountain goats. Land on a huge snow field high on a glacier and enjoy a whole hour with Alaskan sled dogs and their mushers that live here all summer long. Take the dog team for an exhilarating dogsled ride through real snow. You can stand on the runners and mush your own dog team if you want, or just sit on the sled and let the mushers run the team.

After the tour the helicopter takes you to the lower glaciers where you will land on the hard ice between the crevasses to see the majestic blue melt pools.

This tour is unique and very special. The lower glacier landing provides for some epic photos and time to enjoy a special part of our earth. The dog sledding very memorable. How many people can say they flew on a helicopter to visit champion dogs as they train for their next race?!

Cool helocopter flying, cool round on the sleigh with the dogs and even cooler was the landing on the ici glacier. Very sympathic pilot, modern equipment (R44), unforgettable experience and one of the top highlights of our Alaska tour.

What an amazing experience! Once in a lifetime views, incredible interactions with award winning champion dogs, and excellent tour guides and pilots. Our pilot, Tyler, effortlessly escorted us along the mountains to the glacier where the dogs and their handlers live during the summer. These dogs are champions, winning Dallas Seavey the Iditarod a record-tying 5 times. These dogs love the interactions with the travelers, and you can tell the staff really care for these animals like family. Mushing these powerful dogs while atop a glacier at 4800 feet is an experience beyond words: simply incredible. Our host Chloe showed us how to mush the dogs on a 2 mile course, and then gave us a chance to love on the dogs afterwards. We even met 4 of the newest 3 month old puppies. We also got what felt like an exclusive look into the handler's lodging atop the glacier, as well as their kitchen and living areas. On the last leg, Tyler flew us past indescribable glacier ice falls and sparking blue glacier melt pools, and we landed beside a pristine blue pool for photos and to collect all fresh mountain glacier water. The scenery, virtually untouched by mankind for thousands of years was inspiring and overwhelmingly beautiful. This is 2 hours you will remember for the rest of your life. I would recommend this at twice the price. We will be back with our family - this is too good to keep to ourselves.
