I love the outdoors and this was awesome. To be able to experience a rain forest jungle and not have to worry about snakes is amazing! It was very slippery so watch your step, but what do you expect in a rain forest! The kayak portion could have been a little longer, but it was still fun through beautiful scenery. We enjoyed the rope swing into the Fountain of Youth - by the way, it didn't make me younger, but it did make feel younger to go on a rope swing out in the middle of a jungle.

We did the Hidden Valley kayak trip this morning. The kayak portion was beautiful although our guide simply paddled ahead of the pack and gave no narration of the area. The hiking portion was fun and our other guide Sally talked about the plants along the way which was very interesting. My biggest complaint was that we were VERY rushed. We got to the swimming hole and had about 10 minutes for about 15 people to play on the rope swing and basically no time to just enjoy the water and cool off. We then hurried along to the ā€œwaterfallā€ for lunch. First, this was a lovely spot but definitely NOT a waterfall by Hawai’i standards. We were then rushed so much through lunch that we did not even have time to finish much less enjoy the scenery, take pictures, get wet, etc. I will say that the lunch was very good - large sandwich, pasta salad, drink, brownie and ample water. But I had to eat what I could so fast that I definitely did not enjoy it. We then walked back very quickly to catch the boat back but it wasn’t there and we had to just sit there and wait. So....all in all, I think this could be a very nice trip if the time was extended but we were very disappointed and cannot give this trip anything but an average rating.

We had to reschedule this trip due to the threat of hurricane lane, and when we did ended up on a trip with a total of 6 people and the guides. We had a great time. 2.5 mile kayak trip up the river, a quick hike to a swimming hole and rope swing, a tractor trip up a muddy trail to see the ranch, stop for lunch and then off to 2 zip lines (I think we would have liked to do at least 3), then another hike to a different swimming hole with a zipline into the water. The guides (Blake, Kevin and Anya) were great and because our trip was so small we got to zip into the water over and over again. We all said it was the highlight of our trip.
