Overview

A fast and fun wildlife adventure awaits your family aboard our zodiac-style vessels (rigid inflatable boats). This cruise of up to 20 passengers gives you a thrilling 2-hour look at Southern California’s year-round whales and dolphins. With speeds of 30 knots or more, you’ll spend less time looking for animals and more time enjoying them! Your zodiac adventure will have you incredibly close to the ocean’s surface and within arm’s reach of wildlife. At the conclusion of your cruise, you'll receive one of Mrs. Capt. Dave's famously delicious Triple Fudge Brownies. (Some folks love the brownies more than the whales!)

This experience far exceeded my expectations. I booked a private tour for just me and my husband. And the price was great. So much cheaper than other companies. Very affordable. Our Captain was Captain Liz. What an amazing Captain. I can't say enough wonderful things about Liz. She made sure we were enjoying ourselves and that we were comfortable the whole time. She has a great sense of humor. Bonus. My husband spotted the first Blue Whale of the season. So incredible to see this creature that very few people get to see. I would highly recommend this company. Everyone was so friendly. And if you get a chance, ask for Liz. You will be glad you did!

A fantastic whale watching experience. Captain Gary and First Mate Matt were friendly, funny and knowledgeable. We had the amazing experience of seeing a gray whale but also a blue whale. I’ll definitely be taking more whale watching trips with Captain Dave’s!!

As a dolphin lover, I can honestly say this excursion exceeded my expectations. My boyfriend and I went on the smaller, boat (the Zodiac) with Captain Dave and First Mate Matt as our guides. We saw three different species of dolphins, sea lions, and a huge sunfish, sunbathing on top of the water. It was a truly magical morning with clear and calm waters. Capt. Dave and First Mate Matt were super kind, funny, and extremely knowledgeable about the marine life in the Pacific and they gave us lots of fun facts and brownies at the end! We will definitely be back!
