Overview

A fast and fun wildlife adventure awaits your family aboard our zodiac-style vessels (rigid inflatable boats). This cruise of up to 20 passengers gives you a thrilling 2-hour look at Southern California’s year-round whales and dolphins. With speeds of 30 knots or more, you’ll spend less time looking for animals and more time enjoying them! Your zodiac adventure will have you incredibly close to the ocean’s surface and within arm’s reach of wildlife. At the conclusion of your cruise, you'll receive one of Mrs. Capt. Dave's famously delicious Triple Fudge Brownies. (Some folks love the brownies more than the whales!)

My family had a wonderful trip with Captain Gary, who was particularly helpful in positioning the Zodiac so that we could get the ideal angle for photos. We cruised with 500+ dolphins, followed two gray whales, and ended the trip with close-ups of sea lions and pelicans. A most satisfying excursion!

My wife and I took the private Zodiac Safari with Capt. Gary who was entertaining and knowledgeable. We were fortunate to see three gray whales and as an added bonus ran across a pod of dolphins and sea lions. Capt. Gary also was busy picking up 3 "Valentine Day" mylar balloons floating in the ocean during our excursion. The ride was comfortable and and exciting. The entire experience from the online reservation to check in with Capt. Davy's operation was smooth and efficient. We definitely will book with them again.

Capt. Dave's Whale Watch Safari is a very relaxed and easy going way to explore the amazing wildlife off our shore. We took the Zodiac tour which is a very different experience from the large boat. It's much closer to the water and fewer people so you get to know your boat mates! We shadowed a grey whale for an hour and it was an amazing display! We also were able to get in with a large pod of dolphin making their way. They were really close to the boat and there were hundreds! You can lay down on the flat part of the deck at the front of the boat and it's a very heartwarming and close-up experience! They are INCREDIBLY eco-concious! We picked up trash along our way since the Zodiac is so low to the water. Capts. Gary and Buck are really knowledgeable and you can tell they love the Earth and all its' creatures.
