Overview

A fast and fun wildlife adventure awaits your family aboard our zodiac-style vessels (rigid inflatable boats). This cruise of up to 20 passengers gives you a thrilling 2-hour look at Southern California’s year-round whales and dolphins. With speeds of 30 knots or more, you’ll spend less time looking for animals and more time enjoying them! Your zodiac adventure will have you incredibly close to the ocean’s surface and within arm’s reach of wildlife. At the conclusion of your cruise, you'll receive one of Mrs. Capt. Dave's famously delicious Triple Fudge Brownies. (Some folks love the brownies more than the whales!)

While you could opt for a more economical whale watching experience, this specific tour is for a smaller group on a smaller boat. The boat is able to travel up to 30 knots and can cover a larger area in the ocean, providing more opportunity and likelihood of seeing the marine life! My experience was truly amazing. There were 7 of us on the vessel and we were able to travel about 15 miles from Dana Point and made it to an aquatic feeding frenzy that included a couple thousand dolphins, 4 humpback whales, and many sea lions. We were extremely close to the action and I was able to snap some great photos of the whales and dolphins. The captain was very knowledgeable and willing to answer all of our questions. We were having so much fun, that she even extended the trip by over 30 minutes. I highly recommend this experience over the traditional larger vessels!

What a fabulous day on the ocean with Captain Daniel in the high speed Zodiac boat. We saw two pods of common dolphins, both short and long bill and learned a lot about their habits. There were hundreds of them. Special thanks to Daniel for the great lunch recommendation as well. “What a Dish Cafe” was fantastic. Made for a memorable day!

Today we took a Captain Dave’s high speed Zodiac whale/dolphin watch cruise. Our Zodiac was piloted by Captain Craig and outstanding isn’t a strong enough adjective to describe this cruise. We spent at least an hour surrounded by a large pod of bottlenose dolphin and what a wonderful show they put on. We highly recommended this company.
