Highlights of Charleston Guided Walking Tour

Overview
Our two hour Highlights of Charleston walking tour guides guests through the historic French Quarter and South of Broad neighborhoods of downtown Charleston. Along the way, your guide will describe the long history, unique culture, architecture, and geography of Charleston and the greater lowcountry area, painting a detailed picture of how Charleston's tumultuous past formed the city now beloved by travelers the world over. You'll view some of the city's oldest houses of worship, burial sites, theaters, the forts of Charleston harbor, and the antebellum mansions that look out across the waters of the Cooper and Ashley rivers, among many other historic and picturesque sites. Our guides also offer their expert advice on other activities, restaurants, and bars for guests to explore once they've finished their tour.

My family of five recently booked a tour. My mother, who is diabetic, had exhausted herself before we began the tour. Her sugar levels became dangerously low, so she and I walked to nearby bar to get her a coke. So we missed the tour. My wife and sons continued on and came back with glowing comments for Billā€™s passion and knowledge of Charleston. Donā€™t let his youth (20ā€™s?) cause any hesitance. One of my sons has been on a tour with a higher rated Trip Advisor Charleston tour, in fact, the highest. He said Bill was better! The best part for me was they refunded the cost of two spaces because we missed the tour.

We took this walking tour with Bill today and were thoroughly impressed with the experience. He was so engaging, asking questions and getting the group to interact as much as possible. If he was my professor in college, his class would have been my favorite. It's always enjoyable to experience a city through the eyes of someone who clearly loves the place and has a passion for its history. Bill certainly has a passion for what he does and a distinctive presentation style that drew us in and kept us interested throughout the two hour tour. We have been on a lot of walking tours all over the world, and today we deemed this one our favorite. I highly recommend taking this tour.

This was a jam packed (in a good way) walking tour. Lots of Charleston history from its very beginnings to present. Great architecture from homes to churches. Highlights of possible things to see when there's more time. Palmer, our guide, was animated and a wealth of knowledge, she knew the answer to all our questions.
