Highlights of Charleston Guided Walking Tour

Overview
Our two hour Highlights of Charleston walking tour guides guests through the historic French Quarter and South of Broad neighborhoods of downtown Charleston. Along the way, your guide will describe the long history, unique culture, architecture, and geography of Charleston and the greater lowcountry area, painting a detailed picture of how Charleston's tumultuous past formed the city now beloved by travelers the world over. You'll view some of the city's oldest houses of worship, burial sites, theaters, the forts of Charleston harbor, and the antebellum mansions that look out across the waters of the Cooper and Ashley rivers, among many other historic and picturesque sites. Our guides also offer their expert advice on other activities, restaurants, and bars for guests to explore once they've finished their tour.

I visited Charleston back in March with a group of friends. We were staying in Myrtle Beach but decided to take a drive down to Charleston for a night to see what it was all about. I had always heard of Charleston but had never visited and certainly didn't know that much about the city. We wanted to book a walking tour to start our visit out right, so we booked with Oyster Point Historic Walking Tours. I couldn't be more glad, to this day, that the other walking tours were full. If it weren't for that, we never would have booked with Oyster Point and got Palmer as our guide. Palmer was the best tour guide I have ever had. I have been on tours in D.C., Philadelphia, Chicago, Southern California, etc., and none were as fun to listen to and learn from as Palmer's tour was. I still think about my 24 hours in Charleston a lot and how much I want to go back. A huge thank you to Palmer for absolutely making my friends and I's trip! If you want to help out a small business, look no further than Oyster Point!

My husband, my in-laws and I did a private walking tour with Palmer as our guide. She was fantastic - full of energy, knowledgeable about the city, it's history and all the great things there are to see and do in it. It was a very hot day and I'm sure that Palmer had to be quite exhausted having done several earlier tours... but you would NEVER know that we weren't her first tour of the day! If you're looking for an amazing, customized walk around the city look no further!

We were very pleased with our tour! Great looking guide who was very informative! I highly recommend this company. But it is a walking tour so you need to be moderately active! If it summer get an early time!
