Highlights of Charleston Guided Walking Tour

Overview
Our two hour Highlights of Charleston walking tour guides guests through the historic French Quarter and South of Broad neighborhoods of downtown Charleston. Along the way, your guide will describe the long history, unique culture, architecture, and geography of Charleston and the greater lowcountry area, painting a detailed picture of how Charleston's tumultuous past formed the city now beloved by travelers the world over. You'll view some of the city's oldest houses of worship, burial sites, theaters, the forts of Charleston harbor, and the antebellum mansions that look out across the waters of the Cooper and Ashley rivers, among many other historic and picturesque sites. Our guides also offer their expert advice on other activities, restaurants, and bars for guests to explore once they've finished their tour.

We took the 2 hour walking tour Friday, 3/24/17 with Palmer. One of the best parts of our trip! The tour began on time and was over 2 hours long. Palmer has a wealth of knowledge regarding Charleston and it's history. She always told us what to expect, where we were going next and had a genuine concern with everyone's needs. This is a must do tour! You will not be disappointed!

Our tour guide, "coach," is a retired history teacher. Actually, he's still teaching history and he obviously loves doing so. His knowledge of the history of Charleston is amazing. He welcomes questions and is never at a loss for answers. He also asks questions and goes out of his way to engage everyone on the tour in conversation. Coach covered the history of Charleston from the earliest colonists to very recent times, even explaining how Charleston became a top tourist destination. If you love history, architecture, geography, or just learning in general you won't be disappointed.

Feb 2017 my daughter and I went on this fantastic tour. I highly recommend this to anyone who has any interest in history. Bill is a great tour guide and he is so inspirational, describing the history of Charleston. To tell you the truth , after this tour I just had to sit and try to take it all into my head. He really made Charleston come to life and it was so enjoyable. Please if you would like a historical tour of Charleston he is one of the best there is.
