What To Expect

Banyan Drive

Our first path drives us down Banyan Drive known as the "Hilo Walk of Fame" for the banyan trees planted by celebrities, such as Babe Ruth and Franklin Roosevelt and many others. These trees have withstood several tsunamis that have devastated the town of Hilo

Liliuokalani Gardens

This is the largest Japanese garden outside of Japan donated by Queen Liliʻuokalani in 1917. Throughout the gardens are stone lanterns, gazebos, and torii gates, recalling the Japanese immigrants who came to Hawaii.

Rainbow Falls

breathtaking 80 ft waterfall, Rainbow Falls. These beautiful falls get their name from the rainbow that is often visible in the mist that rises as the water cascades to the rocks 80 feet below.

Big Island Candies

Big Island Candies was established in 1977 to manufacture and market fine quality macadamia nut candies and cookies using 100 percent Hawaii-grown macadamia nuts and Kona coffee, island eggs, real butter, and high-grade chocolate. Since its founding, Big Island Candies has continuously introduced new and imaginative products that "wow" both the eyes and taste buds of its growing legion of fans.

Hawaii Volcanoes National Park

We will then make our way to the summit of Kilauea volcano at the Volcanoes National Park, the most highly regarded and revered volcanic area on Earth. The Park highlights two of the world's most active volcanoes--Kilauea and Mauna Loa--and offers insights on the birth of the Hawaiian Islands and views of dramatic volcanic landscapes. At the park, you will stop at the Visitor Center, witness the spectacular collapsed caldera, steam vents, sulfur banks, and fascinating scenic lookouts. No trip to Hawaii is complete without a trip to Volcanoes National Park.

Nahuku - Thurston Lava Tube

We will walk through a lava tube and the guide will share information with you on how it was formed by lava. This lava tube is .4 of a mile loop trail with low lighting. Gradual stairs descending into the tube ascending stairs coming out. Not all passengers may be physically fit in which they may stay in the vehicle or outside natural scenery for this portion of the tour.

Richardson Beach Park

Richardson Black Sand Beach, where sea turtles are usually spotted. The Black Sand Beach is a local favorite, and is a great way to see how the ocean and volcanoes make fine black sand.

Dre lead a great tour. It was very informative. We learned so much about Hawaii! Had a lot of fun. The group was small so there was plenty of time to ask questions and find out everything we wanted to know.

Dre lead our tour on Hilo and is absolutely the best! He is extremely informative, serious about making the excursion fun and stress free, funny and and has a vibrant personality...the type of person you instantly like. Take his tour and you will be impressed. Select C Big Island Tours, Oleathia Buntin, is fantastic. Our excursion on Kona was cancelled by the vendor and she contacted me several days before to advise me of the cancellation and provide several other options for the day. Oleathia's correspondence, both voice and written, was wonderful...thank you!

The check in was very disorganized to start with, took too long and was confusing. The tour bus we were to go on was in the shop and they rented a 14 passenger van which was too small for 14 adults. Everyone on the bus was uncomfortable and hot which lead to everyone not happy with the excursion. I would not recommend this company.

Aloha, we just received the other review from the other passenger in your party. As I said before, we are sad to hear you didn't fully enjoy your tour but I am glad you liked your tour guide Chris. As life goes unforeseen events happen.We were able to rent a 14 passenger Ford Transit in which has 14 individual seats in order to do all that we could besides upsetting and canceling guests last minute. The list are lined out according to groups traveling together. I apologize and know that there were several groups that wanted to be together that day but did not notify us before hand, therefore the guide accommodated best as possible rearranging. Our deepest apologies and do hope you will give us another chance in the future to show you this beautiful island.
