What To Expect
1
Banyan Drive
Our first path drives us down Banyan Drive known as the "Hilo Walk of Fame" for the banyan trees planted by celebrities, such as Babe Ruth and Franklin Roosevelt and many others. These trees have withstood several tsunamis that have devastated the town of Hilo
2
Liliuokalani Gardens
This is the largest Japanese garden outside of Japan donated by Queen LiliŹ»uokalani in 1917. Throughout the gardens are stone lanterns, gazebos, and torii gates, recalling the Japanese immigrants who came to Hawaii.
3
Rainbow Falls
breathtaking 80 ft waterfall, Rainbow Falls. These beautiful falls get their name from the rainbow that is often visible in the mist that rises as the water cascades to the rocks 80 feet below.
4
Big Island Candies
Big Island Candies was established in 1977 to manufacture and market fine quality macadamia nut candies and cookies using 100 percent Hawaii-grown macadamia nuts and Kona coffee, island eggs, real butter, and high-grade chocolate. Since its founding, Big Island Candies has continuously introduced new and imaginative products that "wow" both the eyes and taste buds of its growing legion of fans.
5
Hawaii Volcanoes National Park
We will then make our way to the summit of Kilauea volcano at the Volcanoes National Park, the most highly regarded and revered volcanic area on Earth. The Park highlights two of the world's most active volcanoes--Kilauea and Mauna Loa--and offers insights on the birth of the Hawaiian Islands and views of dramatic volcanic landscapes. At the park, you will stop at the Visitor Center, witness the spectacular collapsed caldera, steam vents, sulfur banks, and fascinating scenic lookouts. No trip to Hawaii is complete without a trip to Volcanoes National Park.
6
Nahuku - Thurston Lava Tube
We will walk through a lava tube and the guide will share information with you on how it was formed by lava. This lava tube is .4 of a mile loop trail with low lighting. Gradual stairs descending into the tube ascending stairs coming out. Not all passengers may be physically fit in which they may stay in the vehicle or outside natural scenery for this portion of the tour.
7
Richardson Beach Park
Richardson Black Sand Beach, where sea turtles are usually spotted. The Black Sand Beach is a local favorite, and is a great way to see how the ocean and volcanoes make fine black sand.

Giovanni was great and gave us a lot of information. We were able to see a lot on this tour and were grateful for our tour guide and comfortable air conditioned 14 person van. Didn't feel crowded at all. Easy to get on and off. I would recommend as all the sites we visited were interesting. Nice sample of the area. Thank you.

Edmond was our tour guide and he was excellant. We had him for two separate tours, one in Kona where he took us to a resturant that was just a small one in a home called Super J's and it was awesome. The second was to the Volcanoes and again his knowledge of things made the tours even better. He was a great tour guide. Couldn't have asked for anyone better.

We had a great tour with Dre our tour guide. There were only 16 of us in the mini van which made it nice. We went to Volcano National Park and saw the active volcanic crater and steam vents. He showed us some videos of two years ago when the volcano hit the island and he was nearby and saw it firsthand. The video was amazing. It was misty that day so our tour guide Dre gave us ponchos to keep us dry. He was always very helpful and since my backup charger didnā€™t work he let me use his portable charger at my seat so I could continue to use my phone as a camera. Heā€™s the BEST!!! Also we wanted to see a lava tube and the Thurston lava tube was closed so I asked if we could see another lava tube and others wanted to see it too so he took us to Kaumana caves and we were able to walk into that cave which was very impressive. He toured us around the Orchid Gardens as well as the gardens at the macadamia nut farm and then to Richardson Black Sand beach and saw the turtles which sometimes donā€™t come out of the water but we saw them. We also saw a nae nae bird at the National Park which is pretty rare. He always had stories to tell as he is a local of Kona. He does tours in both Kona and Hilo.
