Hoonah Whale Tours is a family owned whale watching company that operates out of Hoonah, AK. When taking this tour you will be on a private 6 passenger boat tour that goes out into Icy Strait. During the tour will you get the chance to see all sorts of Southeast Alaska wildlife, including bald eagles, sea lions, sea otters, sometimes brown bear and orcas and of course humpback whales! Our tours last between 3 and 3.5 hours and we guarantee you'll see whales or you money back. The boat is a 6 passenger catamaran, with a walk around deck, heated cabin, and a bathroom on board. We also provide snacks and beverages.

When out on our whale watching tour you will be in Icy Strait (body of water) You will get to see humpback whales (guaranteed!), sea lion, sea otter, and bald eagles. You even have the chance of seeing brown bear along the beaches, orcas and puffins flying by.

Wonderful morning whale watching. We picked this trip because we did not want to be on a large boat trying to fight for space to see whales. This was the perfect choice for our family. My children enjoyed the trip and had an experience of a lifetime. We learned about Hoonah through our tour. Jordan and his wife Maraiya are very professional. Jordan took the time to make sure we had a great experience and see several whales. Maraiya also gave us tips about what to do with our children while in Hoonah. We had a great whale tour but also experienced other wildlife in Hoonah. I booked this tour months ahead and so glad we did. I would recommend Hoonah Whale Tours to anyone visiting Icy Strait Point.

More than we thought we would see. Breaching Humpback whales but the added bonus of two Killer whale pods, seals and sea otters. Jordan was an excellent tour guide. Would go again.

Jordan and his wife were excellent hosts from booking to tour. Every question was answered. They even coordinated with Bear Lodge to ensure we could manage a bear search after the whale tour. We were delighted to see 2 pods of orcas, humpback whales breaching and sleeping, seals, otters and eagles. As a small private tour, they provided muffins and hot chocolate and made the trip a personalized experience. Highly recommend booking with Hoonah Whale Tours. You will be welcomed like family and amazed by the beauty of the land and sea.
