Hoonah Whale Tours is a family owned whale watching company that operates out of Hoonah, AK. When taking this tour you will be on a private 6 passenger boat tour that goes out into Icy Strait. During the tour will you get the chance to see all sorts of Southeast Alaska wildlife, including bald eagles, sea lions, sea otters, sometimes brown bear and orcas and of course humpback whales! Our tours last between 3 and 3.5 hours and we guarantee you'll see whales or you money back. The boat is a 6 passenger catamaran, with a walk around deck, heated cabin, and a bathroom on board. We also provide snacks and beverages.

When out on our whale watching tour you will be in Icy Strait (body of water) You will get to see humpback whales (guaranteed!), sea lion, sea otter, and bald eagles. You even have the chance of seeing brown bear along the beaches, orcas and puffins flying by.

Captain Joardan and wife Maraiya offer a wonderful experience for whale watching. We picked Hoonah Whale Tours because they offer a small, intimate experience for whale watching. Joardan worked really hard to find both Orca and Humpback whales for us to view and delivered on both. He is so respectful of the wildlife as to not get too close or chase the. We highly recommend Hoonah Whale Tours!!

Booked this tour on our own when cruise ship had no availability. Family business offering friendly and efficient service. Jordan captained our trip and we saw us some whales! Also see some sea lions. Small boat but a great trip.

Family business run very professionally. Everything was as represented from the pick- up at the cruise ship to our return at the end of the trip. We really appreciated being on a small boat rather than on a large excursion. We didn't see a great number of whales but we did see several humpbacks and were close enough to really appreciate their size. The captain was knowledgable, considerate and committed to our having a great experience. I highly recommend them.
