Hoonah Whale Tours is a family owned whale watching company that operates out of Hoonah, AK. When taking this tour you will be on a private 6 passenger boat tour that goes out into Icy Strait. During the tour will you get the chance to see all sorts of Southeast Alaska wildlife, including bald eagles, sea lions, sea otters, sometimes brown bear and orcas and of course humpback whales! Our tours last between 3 and 3.5 hours and we guarantee you'll see whales or you money back. The boat is a 6 passenger catamaran, with a walk around deck, heated cabin, and a bathroom on board. We also provide snacks and beverages.

When out on our whale watching tour you will be in Icy Strait (body of water) You will get to see humpback whales (guaranteed!), sea lion, sea otter, and bald eagles. You even have the chance of seeing brown bear along the beaches, orcas and puffins flying by.

We saw several humpback whales, seals, and a bear foraging on the shore. Great trip! Jordan was experienced and he and his wife were wonderful hosts (really enjoyed those huckleberry muffins). Thanks for the perfect whale tour!

Outstanding Whale Watching tour! Jordan was a professional, knowledgeable, friendly captain and host. Best part was he insured our group experienced the magic of the whales. We saw humpbacks breaching and many swimming and blowing. The cabin was heated and he even provided hot chocolate and homemade muffins. Great experience - thank you Jordan!!!

Fantastic whale watching tour. I’ve been on 2 others and Hoonah Whales was by far the best! Small group of no more than 6 people allows for optimal viewing for all on board. Captain was super friendly and informative. The warm drinks and home maid muffins offered were a nice added perk. We saw so many whales and other sea life on this tour. Got to see a mama and her calve. Plus a couple whales even breached right by the boat!
