What To Expect

Black Hills National Forest

Once the balloon is ready, you’ll gently take to the skies for an approximate 1-hour flight over the Black Hills National Forest. If you are new to ballooning, you’ll be surprised at the silence and serenity you’ll find high above the treetops. It’s truly magical. Upon landing, the ground crew will pack the balloon while you and your pilot celebrate the flight with complimentary champagne, light snacks and a story about the origin of hot air ballooning. Flights depart at sunrise and are weather dependent and always at the discretion of your experienced pilot.

For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.

Damien was an excellent host and pilot! Beautiful aerial views of the magnificent granite outcroppings and National forest! Beautiful and definitely a must do when visiting the Black Hills.

Amazing! That is the one word my family has said over and over. Been a tough year for 2020 graduates and mine wanted to take a hot air balloon ride for the first time. Heights not my thing but Damien and his team were so great. The process of getting the balloon ready doesn't take long at all and you are on your way. I can vouch that it really is like you aren't even moving and you can see forever! Beautiful. The after ride tradition of drink, snack, and history was great. If you want to go for a balloon ride with a team excited to provide and share the experience with you, Black Hills Balloons is it! My 2020 graduate had a great time and is so glad he did it.....and yeah...so am I!

Absolutely loved it wasn’t sure what to expect as my wife and I had never flown in a balloon Bee fore but the experience was breathtaking and overwhelming to the senses very knowledgeable and safe pilot answered all and any questions funny and we had a wonderful experience I highly recommend taking a balloon ride if you’ve never done so truly amazing
