What To Expect

Black Hills National Forest

Once the balloon is ready, you’ll gently take to the skies for an approximate 1-hour flight over the Black Hills National Forest. If you are new to ballooning, you’ll be surprised at the silence and serenity you’ll find high above the treetops. It’s truly magical. Upon landing, the ground crew will pack the balloon while you and your pilot celebrate the flight with complimentary champagne, light snacks and a story about the origin of hot air ballooning. Flights depart at sunrise and are weather dependent and always at the discretion of your experienced pilot.

Cancellation Policy

For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.

I had proposed to my wife in a hot air balloon and for our 10th anniversary I wanted to take her up in a balloon again. We planned our vacation and I emailed the company through their website. Damien, one of the owners, replied back and we got everything arranged. I didn’t know what to expect because I had never been to South Dakota. I will put this in a short version that it was the best experience I have ever had hands down. The balloon crew and the owners were all there and you could see on their faces that they love doing this. They have passion for what they do. We will come back again.

Damien and Mike (pilots) of the balloons are excellent people and great guides to this adventure! Mike was our pilot on this one and he did a great job of flying the hot air balloon. Take off and landing went extremely well! We had perfect conditions so that played a role in that as well. There was nothing bad about this adventure at all. Professional, fun, and friendly describe this company. Come early in the morning, bring appropriate attire and secure your camera because you will want to take pictures of many things! I highly recommend to anyone that wants to see the true beauty the black hills has to offer!
