What To Expect

Black Hills National Forest

Once the balloon is ready, you’ll gently take to the skies for an approximate 1-hour flight over the Black Hills National Forest. If you are new to ballooning, you’ll be surprised at the silence and serenity you’ll find high above the treetops. It’s truly magical. Upon landing, the ground crew will pack the balloon while you and your pilot celebrate the flight with complimentary champagne, light snacks and a story about the origin of hot air ballooning. Flights depart at sunrise and are weather dependent and always at the discretion of your experienced pilot.

For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.

Incredible experience! Damien and crew were fun, informative and professional! They made us feel safe and relaxed the entire trip. The sunrise and scenery were spectacular. It is Gold Discovery Days weekend in Custer and had an extra special treat of being joined by additional balloons!

If you are like us, taking a hot air balloon ride is on your bucket list. If you decide to do it here, you won’t regret the decision. Damien, who runs the business and flies the balloon, makes the trip truly memorable, with lots of anecdotes and trivia about balloons. We took off at dawn, flew 8 miles over the Black Hills while watching elk and deer run through the woods, then landed in a field of wildflowers and celebrated with mimosas. Awesome from start to finish!
