What To Expect

Black Hills National Forest

Once the balloon is ready, you’ll gently take to the skies for an approximate 1-hour flight over the Black Hills National Forest. If you are new to ballooning, you’ll be surprised at the silence and serenity you’ll find high above the treetops. It’s truly magical. Upon landing, the ground crew will pack the balloon while you and your pilot celebrate the flight with complimentary champagne, light snacks and a story about the origin of hot air ballooning. Flights depart at sunrise and are weather dependent and always at the discretion of your experienced pilot.

For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.

We had our second, hopefully "annual " flight with the crew of Black Hills Balloons It was AMAZING ! Everything you could expect it to be from start to our gentle landing ! Damien does a spectacular job handling the balloon as does his crew There is nothing that compares to the ballooon flight And We loved every minute !!! I'm so scared of heights but have no fear or trepidation when in the balloon !! Thank you soooo much !! It's a dream come true ❤️

What a wonderful experience my husband and I had last month with Damian and his crew. It was a beautiful day with beautiful views of the Black Hills. Since returning home I have told everyone that if they ever take a ride it should be in the hills! There is so much more to experience with the wildlife and views there. We were fortunate enough to see a herd of 9 elk! Can't find that on Maryland. With Damian, there is no fear...his experience and abilities are very apparent! Highly recommended!

This was my second time on a balloon ride, and I must say that the experience with Black Hills Balloons was outstanding! Our pilot, Damian made it quite enjoyable.
