What To Expect

Black Hills National Forest

Once the balloon is ready, you’ll gently take to the skies for an approximate 1-hour flight over the Black Hills National Forest. If you are new to ballooning, you’ll be surprised at the silence and serenity you’ll find high above the treetops. It’s truly magical. Upon landing, the ground crew will pack the balloon while you and your pilot celebrate the flight with complimentary champagne, light snacks and a story about the origin of hot air ballooning. Flights depart at sunrise and are weather dependent and always at the discretion of your experienced pilot.

For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.

We had an amazing sunrise flight and it was the highlight of our vacation. The entire team was friendly and engaging. In addition to the beautiful scenery and smooth ride we learned a great deal about balloon flight and the history of hot air balloons. This was our second balloon flight but our first with Black Hills Balloons. Though we had a great experience the first time, our trip with Black Hills Balloons was even better. Our pilot was funny, knowledgeable, and just did everything to make the riders in the basket comfortable and relaxed. The history lesson provided at the end of the flight gave me a new perspective and appreciation on the art of ballooning. We enjoyed a light snack, great conversation and a champagne toast. The morning flight could not have been more enjoyable. Thank you Black Hills Balloons for a very memorable experience.
