Overview

Seeing the Sonoran Desert via your own two feet can be very intimate. How often do you get to stand right next to a Saguaro Cactus? Have you ever tried a taste of Cholla Cactus? Did you know there are so many edible plants in our Sonoran Desert?

Our guides can put together a hiking adventure in the Sonoran Desert to fit your vision. From a casual stroll to strenuous, rugged terrain—we have you covered. Have your dog along? We welcome them to join the hike as long as they are leashed.

Want to do a family hike? We can put together hikes that include education and get those little legs moving. If you plan to hike a half day with us plan for three hours of hiking. Our guides will carry water, snacks, sunscreen and first aid essentials.

Piestewa Peak

You will view one of the most recognized summit peaks in Phoenix however it is not a part of this hike.

My wife setup the hike -- Laurel made it easy. We met with our guide at the trailhead. Matt, our guide, was excellent. He was very knowledgeable. Taught my family a lot about the geology, vegetation, etc., while keeping it fun. He engaged well with our teenagers and kept them very interested during the hike. Highly recommended.

Laurel was very accommodating in putting together a hiking tour for my friend and me. Excellent communications during planning and Matt, our guide, was able to customize the hike on the fly to our somewhat limited capabilities. Matt provided light backpacks, water (we also brought some), snacks and I'm sure he had a first aid kit and other items, though we didn't need them. All we really had to bring was our hiking shoes, sunglasses and suntan lotion. He made the hike interesting and informative. I'd gladly book another outing with Wild Bunch Desert Guides the next time I'm in the area.

Spent the morning with guides Kayla and Tommy hiking from the Apache Wash Trail. Both of them were energetic, professional, friendly and knowledgeable. The hike was moderate and just the right level. Guides provided everything. Drive to trailhead was reasonable. Views were National Geographic quality. I loved it :) It was the perfect way to spend the morning and allowed us to spent the second half of the day at the Heard Museum which was gorgeous.

Tommy is also the best when it comes to hiking or mountain biking. I love that you felt the views were the quality of National Geographic--that was Tommy on the suggestion for the trails you hiked.
