Overview

The 8 mile whitewater stretch through the Snake River Canyon takes you through mix of calm sections where you'll be able to take in the scenery and wildlife, and exciting rapids. On this smaller 8 man raft your paddling skills will be put to the test as your guide leads you into the big waves of Kahuna and Lunch Counter, so be prepared to paddle hard and have a blast getting soaked!

You will be getting soaked on this trip. So wear items of clothes that are not made of cotton, synthetic clothes are best!

What To Expect

We are pretty confident that this 8-mile stretch of whitewater has the highest concentration of laughter in the state of Wyoming. With class II and III rapids such as The Lunch counter and The Big Kahuna, and even an underwater waterfall aptly named Champagne, this river will thrill and delight you. And with inspiring limestone cliffs, hills of Lodge pole Pine, and the mountain peak horizon of the Grey’s National Forest, the scenery will surely impress you. This is the moment in your vacation that you’ll write home to grandma about—that is, if she’s not already in the boat with you!

The excursion is well organized and executed, and the smaller boat makes the rapids more exciting. Our tour guide was just as entertaining as the ride itself, and our group had a wonderful time!

Roger was my guide, he was pleasant and entertaining. I would book with Dave Hanson and Roger again. Tips, there is a bit of a walk at the end to get back to your bus. If you have any limitations that might be an issue discuss it with the staff when booking so they can accommodate.Low landers remember you’re at 6200 feet five or take so calculate that into your limitations. They while operation was in time and friendly and treated everyone that I saw like regulars. It was fun. Another tip, since you probably won’t bring your phone to Venmo your guide or driver a tip, stick cash in your clothes so you can show appreciation right away. If all else fails the staff has envelopes back at the booking location to leave a tip later.
