Overview

The 8 mile whitewater stretch through the Snake River Canyon takes you through mix of calm sections where you'll be able to take in the scenery and wildlife, and exciting rapids. On this smaller 8 man raft your paddling skills will be put to the test as your guide leads you into the big waves of Kahuna and Lunch Counter, so be prepared to paddle hard and have a blast getting soaked!
Guests 16 and over will be charged a $3 Bridger Teton National Forest User fee at check in.

During the call our office staff will review check in procedures of the day to help limit the time spent inside our office. This may include signing e-waivers for everyone and paying for any wetsuit rentals in advance.
You will be getting soaked on this trip. So wear items of clothes that are not made of cotton, synthetic clothes are best!

What To Expect

Dave Hansen Whitewater and Scenic River Trips

We are pretty confident that this 8-mile stretch of whitewater has the highest concentration of laughter in the state of Wyoming. With class II and III rapids such as The Lunch counter and The Big Kahuna, and even an underwater waterfall aptly named Champagne, this river will thrill and delight you. And with inspiring limestone cliffs, hills of Lodge pole Pine, and the mountain peak horizon of the Grey’s National Forest, the scenery will surely impress you. This is the moment in your vacation that you’ll write home to grandma about—that is, if she’s not already in the boat with you!

The entire process in booking the trip to the actual experience was easy. Dave Hansen’s was extremely helpful and knowledgeable and patient with us. We traveled with a 14 y/o and 11 y/o. My eleven year old and went on the raft with a full wet suit and did not regret it. My fourteen year old wore a jacket and was grateful for that, too. We debated whether to rent them or not but we were all happy with our decision. We did see a couple bald eagles and a yellow belly marmot. The rapids were so fun and wet! We loved this experience!

We had the best time with Dave Hansen as we always do. Our guide this trip was Vlad who is terrific. You will never have a bad time with this crew. I have gone with them all and they are all good but Dave Hansen’s location and friendliest crews make them my favorite. FYI The water is normally beautiful and clear. They had just opened the damn which is why it’s muddy.

We had a great time on the smaller raft trip with our guide Katie! She was an excellent guide who seemed very knowledgable and skilled. She was also fun to talk with and provided lots of fun information about the river and the area. Bus driver George was so funny and made the trip to and from the river enjoyable! Highly recommend!!
