What To Expect

Dave Hansen Whitewater and Scenic River Trips
We are pretty confident that this 8-mile stretch of whitewater has the highest concentration of laughter in the state of Wyoming. With class II and III rapids such as The Lunch counter and The Big Kahuna, and even an underwater waterfall aptly named Champagne, this river will thrill and delight you. And with inspiring limestone cliffs, hills of Lodge pole Pine, and the mountain peak horizon of the Grey’s National Forest, the scenery will surely impress you. This is the moment in your vacation that you’ll write home to grandma about—that is, if she’s not already in the boat with you!

We had a great time whitewater rafting on the Snake River. Our guide Ryan was wonderful with the kids and we felt safe with him guiding the boat. It was me and my two teens (one which had never rafted before), and the other family riding with us had two children with one who was under 10. As soon as we were done we were all ready to do it again!

Bryce was our guide and he was Great!! He was funny and down to earth. My husband and I truly enjoyed our trip looking at the beautiful mountains while rafting. First we took a bus ride for about 10 or 15 min down to Snake river which was nice also. So to tell the rest of the story. There was only 8 of us in the boat including our guide which gives a better experience with a smaller boat. One of our riders fell out the boat when we hit one of the rapids but Bryce saved the day pulling him back in & surprisingly we didn’t flip the raft because it was a bit chaos at that moment as my husband & the guy in front of me was also helping in not letting one of the teens fall out. They do have about 3 or 4 really good exciting rapids for you thrill seekers out there. Note don’t wear anything you don’t want to lose. The guy lost his hat and luckily didn’t lose his glasses. Note: you really have to secure your feet under the seat to stay in the boat. The only negative is when the trip ends you have to walk the trail back to the buses a good ways and it’s very steep in the beginning, I didn’t take a photo but I got a few photos of the trail. It is a beautiful trail as well. Now granted my husband & I had previously hiked 12 miles prior the day before in the Grand Tetons! It was a beautiful trail walk but if you don’t have some strength it may be difficult for you & the rocks are rough on your feet with swimming shoes, I’m sure they could have made an arrangement to drive a person up on the truck that carried the rafts. I have planters fasciitis so it hurt my feet. Just keep this in mind if you take someone with a physical ability. I’m always concerned in these situations for others because after losing my parents & both brothers who all suffered from not being able to walk well. In fact my late younger brother I couldn’t take on a scheduled rafting trip because he had leg pain the day of which was actually cancer at that time. So on a lighter note if you want to have a great time with stunning views then book this trip! Ask for Bryce to be your guide. His mustache is on point! My brother never got his wish to whitewater raft even though we tried, so now I raft in his honor. So get your families out there and ride those wave’s people! Don’t waste time as it is the most valuable thing we have.
