No-bag policy. If you have medical needs that require a carry on, please note at time of booking. All bags brought to base will be stored in the tour office until you return from your flight
Dress warmly and in layers, and wear rubber-soled shoes such as a light hiking boot or athletic shoes. The tour company will provide overshoes and can supply raincoats as needed. Remember to bring your camera, film and binoculars!

ADA - We have an ADA lift that assists guests with getting in and out of the helicopter. If guests use the ADA lift, they will be required to stay inside the helicopter on the glacier. While on the glacier the pilot-guide will open the doors so guests can still take in the sights, sounds and smells. The ADA lift has a weight restriction of no more than 250 lbs. You MUST notify Coastal Helicopters if you will be requiring the ADA helicopter lift.

Phenomenal tour, our pilot was Robbie / Bobby :) :) so says the ground crew. Awesome pilot, SUPER smooth.... we went up, did a really cool tour around the glacier, drank right out of the top-melt stream !!! looked at caverns that would swallow you whole (and never be seen from again), etc. etc. etc. Great flight, great time on the ice. Highly recommend booking this pilot - he made all the difference.

Booking with the company saved $56 per person (compared to cruise line). The advantage of taking the pilot's choice option is more likely to fly. The trips to Mendenhall glacier (via cruise ship) all got cancelled due to weather, but were able to fly to Herbert glacier (albeit with rain at airport and on flight over). Had an incredible time walking on the glacier. Company supplies studded overshoes, rain jacket, rain pants. A friend of mine took similar tour with same company as part of package he bought in advanced at Costco and saved even more money

While we were very disappointed that our original tour with the dog sledding was cancelled Coastal Helicopters did right by offering us another experience. We had an amazing pilot who flew us in the helicopter to a glacier where he guided us on a walk. Overall we spent about 30 min in the helicopter and 30 min on the glacier. I highly recommend Coastal Helicopters.
