Our pick up driver (sorry I didn't get his name) was a gentleman with a lot of local color. He even took us past the bakery where he works from time to time. Great information mixed with humor and very solicitous of his passengers. Our guide and skipper was Anise, a great young man with lots of knowledge about Stephens Passage where we went to view whales. We were not disappointed. At one point we had 10 humpbacks feeding around the boat. With engines off, some came within about 50 feet of us, you could hear them exhale. Herring were skittering around the boat trying to escape. The views were amazing. We have been whale watching for 30 years and this had to be in the top three days we had on the water. The whales can't be guaranteed, but the experience on the water alone will be worth the trip.

We set out on a small boat with Captain Brandon and 2 other couples. It has been an overcast and dreary day but once out on the water the sun came out and it was beautiful. We saw at least 8 whales. The waterway we were in was just beautiful with the Mendenhall Glacier in the distance. Very nice trip, highly recommend.

We were in an 18 person boat and there was plenty of space to move around when the whales were spotted, and they were spotted - lots of them. We spotted the first just after we left the dock and were really prepared for it to be the only one but no, loads were to follow. A really good experience that I fully recommend. The service was first class from start to finish.
