In order to book this tour basic swimming skills & previous snorkeling experience are required. Guest's must be able to swim a short distance to our snorkel board & independently climb up a side boat ladder. Guest must be able to converse in English to understand verbal instructions & safety briefings. Not recommended for guest's who have undergone surgery or have mobility/physical restrictions. Our Manta Policy: Manta Rays are wild animals and Hawaii Island and Ocean Tours cannot guarantee their presence. If a manta ray is not seen on your night out with us you may try again on a different night, or on your next visit. Guests who purchased tickets at our full online booking price may come back out again for free. Tickets purchased through a 3rd party (such as TripAdvisor/Viator/Expedia...etc) or at a discounted rate may join again for an additional $30 per person. Please keep in mind that seats may be extremely limited during certain times of the year. We usually are very successful in finding mantas for you; however if they decide to take the night off the costs involved with setting up the charter will not allow us to offer you a refund. We appreciate your business and understanding of this policy.

Awesome experience. One of the Manta rays did 3 flips really close to us. The crew was great, and I like that it was only 6 people in the group. Instructions on where to meet were easy. The price was very reasonable for the experience. Would totally do it again.

This was definitely one our best experiences on the Big island and the highlight of our trip. Snorkeling with manta ray in the dark is a magical experience. Hawaii Island & Ocean Tours is a small company but they are definitely mighty. They only take you out in a small group of 6 which gives you that personal/private group feeling. They make sure you are comfortable with snorkeling, provide wet suits, snorkeling gear, tea/coffee/snacks before you actually go for snorkeling. The staff is amazing- the person who provides instructions, the captain, dive instructor. They did an incredible job in making sure we are safe and the manta rays are safe too. Highly recommend this!
