In order to book this tour basic swimming skills & previous snorkeling experience are required. Guest's must be able to swim a short distance to our snorkel board & independently climb up a side boat ladder. Guest must be able to converse in English to understand verbal instructions & safety briefings. Not recommended for guest's who have undergone surgery or have mobility/physical restrictions. Our Manta Policy: Manta Rays are wild animals and Hawaii Island and Ocean Tours cannot guarantee their presence. If a manta ray is not seen on your night out with us you may try again on a different night, or on your next visit. Guests who purchased tickets at our full online booking price may come back out again for free. Tickets purchased through a 3rd party (such as TripAdvisor/Viator/Expedia...etc) or at a discounted rate may join again for an additional $30 per person. Please keep in mind that seats may be extremely limited during certain times of the year. We usually are very successful in finding mantas for you; however if they decide to take the night off the costs involved with setting up the charter will not allow us to offer you a refund. We appreciate your business and understanding of this policy.

I loved how we had such a small group, the guides were really helpful and the experience was amazing! They explained everything and helped us feel comfortable. We were probably the smallest group out on the water which was pretty cool. My only advice would be to make sure you put your hair up if you have long hair! My hair kept getting in my face making it hard to see. Also, bring a water proof camera! It is definitely an experience you want to have.

The manta rays are awesome and was great experience- they do come super close - only 3 stars because felt "rushed " was Spose be an hour was 40 - they need to monitor peoples kids or do seperate tour - two young kids on ours didn't use the float to keep their legs up (got kicked in the face twice ) will go again with different company - but manta rays themselves were awesome

The manta rays themselves were breathtakingly beautiful. It was wonderful and a bit surreal to see them in person, and that's what the lone star is for. As for the company and the staff, they really could not have done any worse. There was absolutely no proper servicing of any kind. It felt extremely rushed, they never checked in to see how we were doing, and there were no facilities at all to change or clean up after. When we asked if there's a bathroom we could use, they told us to go in the bushes. When we asked for just 10 seconds to go grab something from our car, they were extremely impatient. It was as if they were trying to get rid of their customers as fast as possible so the next batch of customers could get on board. The other company providing the experience that night actually seemed to care more about properly servicing their customers, and had at least a bathroom and hose for them to use after. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COST. It's an amazing experience itself, but GO WITH ANOTHER COMPANY.

None of our guests should ever feel rushed as our check-in times are 40 minutes prior to the actual departure time. I will definitely be looking into what could have gone wrong and why you may have felt rushed. I am sure that you may have seen a few other companies that check in from their vehicles. As a family-run business checking in from our company vehicle, we do not have access to the public restrooms once they are closed. If you are set for a later check-in time, this can result in no restrooms or place to change which is why we clearly state in the confirmation message here on Viator to arrive in your swimwear.
