Guest's must be able to swim a short distance to our snorkel board & independently climb up a side boat ladder. Our Manta Policy: Manta Rays are wild animals and Hawaii Island and Ocean Tours cannot guarantee their presence. If a manta ray is not seen on your night out with us you may try again on a different night, or on your next visit. Guests who purchased tickets at our full online booking price may come back out again for free. Tickets purchased through a 3rd party (such as TripAdvisor/Viator/Expedia...etc) or at a discounted rate may join again for an additional $30 per person. Please keep in mind that seats may be extremely limited during certain times of the year. We usually are very successful in finding mantas for you; however if they decide to take the night off the costs involved with setting up the charter will not allow us to offer you a refund. We appreciate your business and understanding of this policy.

My family of four used this company for our manta ray night dive. I was worried that we wouldn't have as good of an experience if we used a smaller company instead of the big boats, but these guys had good reviews and were way more affordable so I took a chance. I am sooooo glad we went on a more private boat. We didn't have to share the mantas with others. They focused on our light and we were pretty much belly to belly with six or seven mantas! To top it off, the people are SO fun. We came all the way from Pennsylvania and had an amazing time!

We went on both the dolphin and night manta adventures. The morning was a little tough, as the seas were rough and it almost looked like we weren’t going to see any dolphins and go coral reef snorkeling instead. But captain John didn’t give up we ended up SWIMMING with about 70-100 dolphins! It was beyond magical!! The night manta was equally exciting! Our crew (O’la!!) definitely knew what they were doing and ended up attracting all the manta’s to us (7 of them!!). They operate in small groups and definitely take good care of you.

The Manta Ray Night Snorkel is simply a must do - please don't miss this incredible opportunity. We did our snorkeling tour last night (June 20, 2019 @ 7:50pm) and we have 20 minutes of video with no less than 7 mantas!!!!!! This has been one of the most amazing adventures our family has ever done - TOP OF THE LIST. There are many companies that offer this tour (and we saw them ALL in action) but our family opted to go with Hawaii Island & Ocean Tours. Why... keep reading ... FIRST: this company is a Hawaiian owned and operated FAMILY business and we are happy to support them 100%. SECOND: there are only 6 people on the tour (total of 8 on the on boat w/ the captain and the diver). With other companies you are 1 of dozens. Yes, we are a spoiled family and we like the intimate/private setting (BTW the price is not any different than w/ larger boat companies). THIRD: Hawaii Island & Ocean Tours launches from Keauhou Bay so your boat ride is literally less than 5 minutes (pay close attention to this - other companies the boat ride is 40 minutes) and you spend 40 minutes on the water enjoying the manta rays - it does not get any better than that!!! FOURTH: Our checking-in lady RACHEL was AWESOME - got to love her. Our Captain RANDY the best - smoothest boat ride ever (Randy you are hired!!!). Ola our diver THANK YOU! ANY TIME in the water with you is a GREAT TIME! Thanks for explaining to us from start to finish what we were seeing and experiencing. Last but not least: Scheduling staff, Sam, was awesome - answered ALL my question and even agreed for me to take my life jacket. I always snorkel w/ my life jacket (easy experience for me) - other tour companies would not let me take it (why you may ask .. for no good reason and I'm not expanding on that on this review). Mahalo Hawaii Island & Ocean Tours for the most unforgettable ocean evening ever! Much success always. A Hui Hou.
