In order to book this tour basic swimming skills & previous snorkeling experience are required. Guest's must be able to swim a short distance to our snorkel board & independently climb up a side boat ladder. Guest must be able to converse in English to understand verbal instructions & safety briefings. Not recommended for guest's who have undergone surgery or have mobility/physical restrictions. Our Manta Policy: Manta Rays are wild animals and Hawaii Island and Ocean Tours cannot guarantee their presence. If a manta ray is not seen on your night out with us you may try again on a different night, or on your next visit. Guests who purchased tickets at our full online booking price may come back out again for free. Tickets purchased through a 3rd party (such as TripAdvisor/Viator/Expedia...etc) or at a discounted rate may join again for an additional $30 per person. Please keep in mind that seats may be extremely limited during certain times of the year. We usually are very successful in finding mantas for you; however if they decide to take the night off the costs involved with setting up the charter will not allow us to offer you a refund. We appreciate your business and understanding of this policy.

Our family of 4 had a fantastic time on the Night manta Ray snorkel. When I called, they honored the price being offered through Groupon. The process of checking in was easy and the staff was so informative about the manta rays as we waited. I liked that there was a 6 person max per group in comparison to other operators that take 20+ people per trip. Dylan helped us on the light board and made sure to move the board from place to place to maximize our viewing of the manta rays. We were able to see 4-5 different rays that night. It was the highlight of our trip and I would book with them again.

2nd times a charm!!!! Just got home from the Big Island, we booked with Hawaii Island Ocean Adventures for Monday of our week long trip. Arrived early to prepare and we were so excited to view the Mantas from the shore at the Sheraton. We could see others out in the water with them. Our tour was an 11pm and when it was our turn we got out into the water the Mantas were no where to be found. This was the one tour I really wanted to do so saying we were disappointed was an understatement. Although the guide in the water tried to entertain us with some jokes and was very kind. (Cant plan for nature, free roaming creatures) However Hawaii Ocean Adventures were kind enough to give us another try at experiencing the underwater world with the Mantas. Friday night before our Saturday flight they were able to rebook my family again. Other groups coming in gave us good news that the Mantas were in the bay... After our short boat ride we arrived at the dive spot and were amazed to see multiple mantas right below us. We dropped into the water carefully and got in position on our light board. It was nothing short of amazing. These Giants of the Sea are ever so graceful gliding up to and around you. I heard my kids squeal and giggle with delight as these creatures came in such close proximity. Although my family did not want to make the second trip down which was an hour drive each way at 11 o clock at night (I made them) they were so grateful after the trip that they did. It was indescribable. I would recommend to anyone on the island to experience this!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you from The Lacey Family

One of the highlights on our trip to the Big Island. Perfect amount of time in the water with a very short boat ride. Really liked Hawaii Island & Ocean Tours because of the small grouping and friendly staff. We seen about 6 manta rays with 2 coming inches from our face. A must do when visiting the island.
