The mantas were amazing -we saw SO many, so close and clear at every single angle and our guide was great. SO happy we booked a small boat, only 6 of us, so it was personal. Saw many other huge crews out there and so glad ours was smallā€¦ made the most of every one of our 30 minutes in the water, it was a once in a lifetime must-do experience!! I canā€™t imagine being on one of those large boats waiting for everyone and not getting so many mantas to ourselves. Incredible!! Iā€™m an open water swimmer so the hardest part for me was holding onto the bar and being ledā€¦ I wanted to dive down in there with them! Safe, beautiful, awesome. Even non-swimmers feel safe. Only caveat- arrive 1/2 hour before you need to, as parking was not easy and caused some stress. Wear the wetsuit - water is warm but floating in it for 30 mins you will chill. Hot drinks and snacks provided after. Tip your amazing crew!

Wow...thank you for the glowing review Lizzie. It's heartwarming to hear that the tour was such a highlight for you and that you were able to have such a great experience in a smaller group setting. I totally understand about wanting to let go and just start swimming and playing with these gentle giants. (I have to go out and swim with them during the day so I don't get in trouble or run over by another boat at night.) Mahalo for taking the time to leave us a review and we hope to see you again. Aloha.

The good: - Saw Manta Rays The bad: - The tour started about 30-40 minutes late - Our guide kept making jokes about tipping him $50/Manta Ray (first one was okay but it became repetitive and took away from the experience) - Wanted to hear more about Manta Rays - Lots of boats and people (noise pollution) Overall impression: - Good showing and the company provided wetsuits and light snacks (hot cocoa, cookies, etc.). We felt a little turned off after repeated jokes about tipping them and the fact that no one apologized about being 30-40 minutes late. I would advise going with another company as there were many boats doing the same showing.

Thanks for sharing Jonathan. I'm happy to hear that you were able to see multiple mantas on your night out with us. As far as the repetitive jokes I will be happy to mention this to our guide working that night and that it was a bit of an overkill for you. For the tour itself we have a dedicated "start time for each group". If your tour was set to start at 7:40pm this is the time that we ask you arrive by in order to start getting ready and prepped to go out on the boat. A 30-40 minute window is allocated for guests to be fitted with snorkel gear, sized for wetsuits, finish signing any liability waivers and receive a manta briefing as well as boat safety instructions before getting on the boat. The boat is scheduled to take the 7:40pm guests out at 8:20pm and return back to the dock by 9:00pm. My apologies if this was not clear to you but the tour did run on time and as scheduled on your night out with us. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience and hope that we might have another opportunity to see you again in the future. Safe travels and Aloha.

The whole event from beginning to end was great. It was well organized and the manta rays showed up in abundance! The craziest moments were when, out of no where, one appears from you periphery and is literally in your face. Touching your face! These animals were so gentle and elegant, itā€™s like they were performing a dance for us. My whole family loved it. Oh and a nice surprise was we were given wetsuits to keep us warm. Well worth the money.

Thanks for the great review Daniel and for letting us spend an evening out with you and your family. There's no denying it, Kona's mantas are special and know how to put a surprise smile on your face when you are least expecting it. Out of all the nights I've been out with them, snorkeling never gets old and they continue to leave me captivated and spell bound. Mahalo for your support and we hope to see everyone back out again. Aloha.
