What To Expect
1
Kenai Fjords National Park
In Kenai Fjords National Park, over half of the landmass is covered by the enormous Harding Icefield, a thousand-foot block of ice that dates back to the last Ice Age. The Harding spills out in all directions in the form of glaciers. Some stretch northwest into rugged hills of the Kenai Peninsula. Others—five of them, to be exact—reach as far as the sea along the craggy coast of the Gulf of Alaska.
2
Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge
Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge is comprised of 2,400 islands, headlands, rocks, islets, spires and reefs and is known for its abundance of seabirds.

We saw whales, glaciers, otters and sea lions on this wonderful cruise. There is an enclosed cabin with lots of windows enabling you to see outside very clearly. But please go outside when the captain spots wildlife to give you a better view and make for better pictures. The scenery was spectacular! We got very close to a glacier on the boat. Awesome!!

Went with Kenai Fjords tour and saw 40-50 orcas in different pods, 5 + humpbacks, seals, sea lions, plenty of puffins and kittiwakes near Chiswell Islands - couldn't have asked for a better 8 hours (National Park Day tour) - highly recommend. Seriously dress in 3-4 more layers than you think you need and then bring more in your backpack. You will not be sorry, esp if windy that day or cloudy because YOU WANT TO BE OUTSIDE ON DECK so can do wildlife spotting. SO incredibly cool.

Went out on the Coastal Explorer with Captain Steve and his crew. What a fantastic day out. Saw several humpback whales, bald eagles, sea lions and lots of bird life. Went right up to the edge of Holgate glacier. Thoroughly recommended.
