Kenai Fjords National Park
In Kenai Fjords National Park, over half of the landmass is covered by the enormous Harding Icefield, a thousand-foot block of ice that dates back to the last Ice Age. The Harding spills out in all directions in the form of glaciers. Some stretch northwest into rugged hills of the Kenai Peninsula. Others—five of them, to be exact—reach as far as the sea along the craggy coast of the Gulf of Alaska.

Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge
Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge is comprised of 2,400 islands, headlands, rocks, islets, spires and reefs and is known for its abundance of seabirds.

This was the most memorable trip in our visit to Alaska. We stayed at the Seward hotel, which i highly recommend, and they arranged our boat trip to the Fjords, with complimentary pick up and drop off. Dress warm! It was very cool on the ocean, and you'll want to spend a lot of time on deck taking pictures. I wore my dansko clogs which were just perfect for the boat. Our captain was incredibly knowable and safe! We spent an entire day 150 miles out into the gulf of Alaska, viewing the most incredible wildlife; whale watching, sea lions sunning, puffins, sea birds, eagles, bears, and that was complimented by the humbling glaciers and emerald green waters. Our day finished at Fox Island buffet dinner, which was just fine. It was such an incredible tour that anything after the cruise would pale in comparison. I highly recommend spending the money for the cruise. If you only do the cruise once in your life, it will have been worth the investment.

My family and I took this tour and had a great time. On the way out, the Captain spotted a Bald Eagle and took us close enough for pictures. Along the way we saw lots and lots of Puffins (they're hilarious) and several Humpback whales. Near the fjord we saw seals and spent time taking pictures near the glacier. On the way back, the Captain heard where the Orcas were and got us there in time to see a small group of them - quite a memorable experience. Lunch was pretty good, and the crew made cookies for everyone before we returned. To top it off, when we returned to the harbor, sea otters were playing right near the dock. Highly recommend this tour!
