What To Expect
1
Kenai Fjords National Park
In Kenai Fjords National Park, over half of the landmass is covered by the enormous Harding Icefield, a thousand-foot block of ice that dates back to the last Ice Age. The Harding spills out in all directions in the form of glaciers. Some stretch northwest into rugged hills of the Kenai Peninsula. Others—five of them, to be exact—reach as far as the sea along the craggy coast of the Gulf of Alaska.
2
Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge
Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge is comprised of 2,400 islands, headlands, rocks, islets, spires and reefs and is known for its abundance of seabirds.

I’ve lived in Alaska almost 50 years and we always recommend KFT to our visitors. This year for our 20th anniversary we decided to treat ourselves and go out ourselves. We were reminded why KFT has remained Alaskas most successful ocean tour. A lot has changed from almost 50years ago when it was a 1-2 boat operation. It’s now a huge tour company but the quality service still stands. We even owned our own boat for almost 20 years but going out with the pros, we saw thing’s we’ve never seen, including bubble feeding humpbacks and two sightings on a local orca pod. My wife is in a wheelchair and we strongly recommend one of their catamarans for anyone with mobility issues as the decks are wide and the cats are very stable. This company is now owned by Pursuit, a large tour conglomerate, that also owns the windsong lodge just outside Seward, but the service has remained top notch.

Everything about this tour was fantastic. The captain and crew were very knowledgeable. The time spent moving to the sights, while stopping to view wildlife was great. If anyone saw wildlife, it was pointed out to the captain so he could slow down and circle around if needed. It made it so everyone on deck could view and not miss out. We also really enjoyed that passengers were able to move inside or out depending on their comfort level. On our tour we were able to watch Orcas, Puffins, Blue Whales, porpoises, Sea lions, Seals, Sea otters, and calving glaciers. It was incredible!

This was such a great day cruise. The sites were amazing and we even got to see wildlife that we weren’t expecting to see.
