Overview

Want to squeeze in an island workout where the locals work up a sweat? Join a guide to make the climb up popular Koko Head Crater, where over 1,000 stairs provide an island fitness challenge. Over a distance of .7 miles, this climb gains over 1,000 feet and is sure to elevate your heart rate. All the effort is worth it, however, for the sweeping view from the top, and your local guide will keep you motivated throughout the 2-hour experience.

Our guide Kawika was the best…. It was 6 of us and we all have different strength levels. Without Kawika I don’t think we’d all make it to the top of Koko Head. Kawika made sure we all safely made it to the top and back down. He made sure to always stay with the last person in our group to make sure we were good. An added bonus he bought us water and healthy snacks to keep us moving. Plus he took some awesome pictures of us along that way. Although you could do this trail alone for free we seen even the fittest people struggle going up and coming back down. I would highly recommend Kawika if activity if it’s your 1st time. If you’re thinking to yourself I didn’t come to Hawaii to hike, think again…. The views were definitely worth the hike.

Kawika was super knowledgeable and incredibly patient with me going up those stairs!! The stairs were difficult but the view was totally worth it. Wonderful guide, will totally do this again when I come back!
