What To Expect
1
Kona Inn Shopping Village
Built on ancients grounds, the Kona Inn was responsible for ushering in the era of tourism in Kona. The site was formerly home to King Kamehameha II and is known as "papa'ula" or "red flats" as there may have been human sacrifice here as well. End the tour with a cleansing sage smudge at the new Big Island Ghost Tours booth.
2
Hulihe'e Palace
Will the ghostly "lady in white" of the palace show herself again? Was it Pele, or Princess Kaiulani? We've witnessed her on tour once before...and then she disappeared!
3
Mokuaikaua Hawaii's 1st Christian Church
The lava rock cornerstones of Hawaii's very first Christian church were formerly part of an ancient Hawaiian temple, built hundreds of years in the past. This newly introduced religion eventually led to events that are considered Hawaii's civil war and the end of the ancient Kapu system.
4
Ahuena Heiau
A former sacrificial heiau (luakini) dedicated to the god Ku where human sacrifice was performed, then later rededicated by King Kamehameha to the god Lono as a temple of peace.
5
Kamakahonu Beach
This is the location where King Kamehameha I transitioned into the next life, and also the site of ancient human sacrifice.
6
Kailua Pier
The central meeting place in downtown Kona, where missionaries arrived bringing western religion to the islands.

I never made it to Hawaii. The day before we were set to fly out we had an unexpected death. I tried to call and was told it was not refundable. To be fair it is stated on the website. However, my hotel was also non refundable and I had a rep call me back the next day and gave me a full refund. My suggestion is to not book anything until you actually get to Hawaii. We do plan to try again next year. I seriously doubt I will attempt to book this tour again. It is tied to bad memories now. However I will use Southwest Airlines-full refund. Black rock car rental-full refund. Club Wyndham Moana loa-full refund. These companies have made a difficult and dark time a bit easier with their compassion and understanding.

First of all, we are sorry for your loss. Second, You were listed as a “no call, no show”, and our records indicate you never called or emailed us in the first place to get a refund, which we would have given you. But, of course, it’s our fault, even though our policies are clearly listed (as you mentioned)…and so we also give you a 1 star review for your lack of communication.

This is the biggest scam. We did absolutely nothing paranormal or ghost tour like except for listen to stories and look at an ipad with photo shopped pictures, of other people's encounters?? We paid $120 each as a gift for xmas we were given $30 worth of food. It was listed as A HAUNTED FOOD TOUR. We did nothing at all except for sit in restaurants and hear some bogus history and not true facts. Definitely not the guides fault, she needs to be trained better. We got to the last restaurant so late they didn't even want us there. While walking we heard stories about how the church was made, and about a human sacrifice stone on the lawn of the palace.(from across the street) No paranormal anything? When we brought it to the attention of Zach the owner his response was"the restaurants took to long so they didn't have time for the tour part??? WHAT??none of us wanted to go to the restaurants at all. He said "that wasn't our fault". It was horribly organized, no structure, way over priced and the 6 folks we were with who paid $90 each plus all their own food and drink felt the same way. In fact on his web site the same tour is at $60 and he won't refund us anything??? It was shocking how horrible it was we just wanted to leave but kept thinking, there must be something coming?? Nope. Not sure how this company gets away with ripping guests off like this? If you actually look all the reviews are older. Your best bet is DO NOT BOOK IT
