Our children love legos (you could say they are obsessed), and we have visited the Lego theme park in California. It was wonderful. We were not expecting a theme park, but we were certainly expecting more than what we found in KC. I would describe it as small, loud, unkempt, unimaginative, and unworthy of an hour of our family’s time. There were two very small indoor rides, a very very very small climbing wall, a couple building block areas, a snack bar, a small-scale Lego Kansas City, and a movie room for a 15-minute show. So underwhelming and extremely disappointing. You can literally see and do it all in 30 minutes. And it cost our family of 4 approximately $119 simply to enter. Crazy. We felt bamboozled the moment we got off the elevator and entered into the chaos of it. The miniature KC was neat to see by obviously not worth the admission prices which are crazy. I would recommend the following as alternatives for your time: any children’s museum, Kaleidoscope at Hallmark which is amazing and free, the incredible KC Zoo, the amazing Fritz’s railroad restaurant which is also at Crown Center, any free splash pad around KC which there are many, any park in the city, the railroad park, any Chuck-E-Cheese or other similar establishment, etc. All of these are much more fun and better values. We drove almost 200 miles and simply cannot recommend. If your child just has to see all the Legos, just visit the Lego shop. Free entry on the main level.

My group consisted of myself, my husband, our three children (ages 6 and 4) and my parents, and we had a stellar time! All three of our boys had such a blast. My four-year-old twins especially loved the part where you could build and race Lego cars on the tracks and my six-year-old loved the rides most of all. Lost my husband for a little while as he got distracted building his own car, so I'd definitely say it was fun for all ages! They seemed to have a lot to do, from a couple of rides to a movie to building stations to seeing some pretty impressive Lego builds. The kids really liked the play area but the drawback there was that it's enclosed to where you couldn't really keep an eye on them. Other drawbacks were that it was REALLY crowded and busy and the food court didn't have a lot to offer - we left to go have lunch. Still, it was a great way for the family to spend a few hours and we would have loved to go through the entire thing a second time if we'd had the time! Will definitely take the kids again sometime!

My son is a Lego fanatic so we surprised him with a trip to LEGOLAND Discovery Center and the Aquarium in Kansas City. He had a great time we enjoyed the couple of rides and the movie as well. My 12 year old daughter also had fun, but I will say this place is geared to younger kids. We did the combo ticket with the aquarium next door. It is worth the combo price. I would also recommend if going on a weekend get the earliest ticket time. By late morning the place was packed. We had the 9 am ticket (the earliest time) so there were no lines. The store is pricey just like any Lego Store, but they did have some deals going on so we snagged a couple of Star Wars sets.
