We booked this trip through Viator and will never use them again. The Navajo guides at the Canyon are the best, but the entire experience (getting there, meals, getting back to Las Vegas) was horrible. We had a nice bus, but the temp was either too hot or too cold, no in-between. The bus made bathroom stops at unusual local venues (a good thing) but none of them had enough bathrooms for women. Since there were only minutes at each break, this left no time to purchase food or drinks. Some of the women on the bus ended up using the menās room. The tour guide on the bus was difficult to understand not only due to his accent, but also because the bus microphone did not work most of the time. The bus was equipped with closed circuit, but no films were shown (we were on the bus for hours), no trash bags were offered and the pockets had been removed from the backs of the chairs.
Our confirmation was not provided until late the evening before the trip, and we had to meet the bus before 5:30 AM. Since they had cancelled the trip we had booked for two days before at the last minute, this left us wondering if this trip would also be cancelled until late the night before.
The bus tour guide did a lot of āyellingā at us about time... donāt be late, be back early and so on. But despite this, we always ended up waiting for the guide to get things moving again. There was a lot of wasted time waiting on the guide to get us going toward the next thing.
I highly recommend the Lower Antelope Canyon tour. It is challenging, with near vertical stairs in sections that are really more like ladders. You need to be prepared by wearing appropriate sturdy shoes. It is a beautiful sight to see.
