Our guide, Justin, was knowledgeable and spoke with the authority of understanding the subject; not following a memorized, packaged presentation. He's a teacher in his "day job" and it clearly showed. He presented a plethora of facts in an engaging and entertaining manner and used a laminated map to clearly establish the current city with the days of the 1600's. I had taken this tour as part of Untapped Cities offering and organized a private tour for visitors. They were so thrilled with the afternoon. GO!

My father and I really enjoyed this tour. It was very informative and fascinating to learn all the history that happened in such a relatively small area! I had even walked past a few spots on the tour and never even seen them; such as the giant relief map of New Amsterdam in Peter Minuit plaza. I really learned a lot and had an awesome time! At the end of the tour, we found out it was our guide's first ever tour! None of us could of guessed since she did such a fantastic job. She was an expert in Dutch history and archeology brought the past to life. Thank you for a unique look into lower Manhattan history!!

Being Dutch, me and my daughter took the Remnants of Dutch New Amsterdam tour. Our guide, Justin, proved to be a true fountain of knowledge. Loads of interesting facts and anecdotes about the Dutch beginnings of this fantastic city. What a great and educational way to spend an afternoon in Manhattan!
