Luau Kalamaku with Buffet Dinner & Show

Overview
Welcoming guests to Kauai since 2007, Luau Kalamaku is Hawaii's only luau show performed “in-the-round,” offering optimal views of the stage. Witness the unearthing of the pig from the traditional imu (underground oven) and enjoy a hula lesson. A craft fair featuring unique items by local artisans awaits on the sprawling lawn. Feast on a delicious buffet of local and familiar favorites and enjoy a Mai Tai from the open bar. The 45-minute main show tells the amazing story of the ancient Hawaiian legend of Kalamaku “child of the new land." Through laughter, fear, seduction and fire, a new legacy is created, born from the cherished seeds of their ancestors. The theatrical luau show culminates with a fantastic fire dream featuring fire poi balls and traditional fire knife dancing.

Go for the show, not the food. We definitely loved every second of the hula dancing the the show. We had better food elsewhere in our Hawaiian travels and were wishing we bought the 'show only' ticket as we don't eat enough to maximise the buffet dinner.

Food was not great and the chairs were uncomfortable. It was a pleasant evening except for that. Loved the train ride around the plantation.

We very much enjoyed the experience of this Luau. The dancing was just wonderful --- I've studied classical dance all of my life and thought that the hulas were exquisite. We were so relaxed and enjoying ourselves so much that we left that evening without taking a bag of souvenirs with us --- we accidentally left the bag under our table. The next day we returned to the facility and recovered our bag --- we certainly did not expect to ever see those items again! We went to the luau the last evening of our trip to Hawaii and it was a highlight of our experience.
