Overview

Welcoming guests to Kauai since 2007, Luau Kalamaku is Hawaii's only luau show performed “in-the-round,” offering optimal views of the stage. Witness the unearthing of the pig from the traditional imu (underground oven) and enjoy a hula lesson. A craft fair featuring unique items by local artisans awaits on the sprawling lawn. Feast on a delicious buffet of local and familiar favorites and enjoy a Mai Tai from the open bar. The 45-minute main show tells the amazing story of the ancient Hawaiian legend of Kalamaku “child of the new land." Through laughter, fear, seduction and fire, a new legacy is created, born from the cherished seeds of their ancestors. The theatrical luau show culminates with a fantastic fire dream featuring fire poi balls and traditional fire knife dancing.

I have been to several luaus this was a favorite. They seated my elderly mother early to avoid the crowd of people entering. Food was delicious, and I liked that it told a story instead of the typical luau that just shows the dances of the islands. Wait staff and bartenders were friendly, and found several local artists souvenirs to take back home.

The luau was fantastic!! We got there on time and still had an hour to take our photo and walk around to different local vendors to shop and settle in. There were two locations for restrooms and bars/beverages which was great and helped keep the lines down. The food was delicious and they served a variety. The show was really good and I liked how it told a story. The show is on a stage so everyone was able to see. We had a blast!!
