Overview

Welcoming guests to Kauai since 2007, Luau Kalamaku is Hawaii's only luau show performed “in-the-round,” offering optimal views of the stage. Witness the unearthing of the pig from the traditional imu (underground oven) and enjoy a hula lesson. A craft fair featuring unique items by local artisans awaits on the sprawling lawn. Feast on a delicious buffet of local and familiar favorites and enjoy a Mai Tai from the open bar. The main show tells the amazing story of the ancient Hawaiian legend of Kalamaku “child of the new land." Through laughter, fear, seduction and fire, a new legacy is created, born from the cherished seeds of their ancestors. The theatrical luau show culminates with a fantastic fire dream featuring fire poi balls and traditional fire knife dancing.

This luau was outstanding! I don’t understand some of the negative comments. We purchased the premium seating and were seated at an eight person round table next to the stage. The stage is round and the tables are placed around it. They brought us a bowl of salad and dressing (balsamic and thousand island.) then a basket of rolls. There were four buffet lines and the called us by table. The food was all very good. Macaroni and potato salad, lomilomi, teriyaki chicken, pork, broiled fish- all excellent. The show was amazing. Good story, easy to follow, great dancing, singing, fire twirling. We came by bus from the NCL cruise and getting 700 people to buses took a while but that’s not the fault of the luau. There are also local crafts for sale at tables before dinner. Don’t miss it. Pay for the premium seating. You won’t regret it.
