Overview

Welcoming guests to Kauai since 2007, Luau Kalamaku is Hawaii's only luau show performed “in-the-round,” offering optimal views of the stage. Witness the unearthing of the pig from the traditional imu (underground oven) and enjoy a hula lesson. A craft fair featuring unique items by local artisans awaits on the sprawling lawn. Feast on a delicious buffet of local and familiar favorites and enjoy a Mai Tai from the open bar. The 45-minute main show tells the amazing story of the ancient Hawaiian legend of Kalamaku “child of the new land." Through laughter, fear, seduction and fire, a new legacy is created, born from the cherished seeds of their ancestors. The theatrical luau show culminates with a fantastic fire dream featuring fire poi balls and traditional fire knife dancing.

Every time we are in Kauai we enjoy the show and food with new friends. We use the shuttle service from Princeville which is nice with an open bar. Well organized and the staff top notch. Food is pretty good. On the same grounds as Gaylord, and really good rum tasting.

I attended the luau as a part of our holiday this week. We didn’t do the dinner, we just booked the show only option. The show was really well done. I would recommend attending the show portion of the event. The buffet may have been good but the thought of sharing a meal with that many people was a little off putting.

The entire show was wonderful, beautiful dancing, great music. I loved that we were able to get some nonalcoholic beverages. The vegetarian options weren’t very good, but I was glad that I didn’t leave hungry. The train ride was magical, we loved the animals and beautiful majesty of the views.
