Overview

Welcoming guests to Kauai since 2007, Luau Kalamaku is Hawaii's only luau show performed “in-the-round,” offering optimal views of the stage. Witness the unearthing of the pig from the traditional imu (underground oven) and enjoy a hula lesson. A craft fair featuring unique items by local artisans awaits on the sprawling lawn. Feast on a delicious buffet of local and familiar favorites and enjoy a Mai Tai from the open bar. The 45-minute main show tells the amazing story of the ancient Hawaiian legend of Kalamaku “child of the new land." Through laughter, fear, seduction and fire, a new legacy is created, born from the cherished seeds of their ancestors. The theatrical luau show culminates with a fantastic fire dream featuring fire poi balls and traditional fire knife dancing.

Luau and buffet dinner and the Best of Kaua’i by land, river and local restaurant lunch with Domy the guide tour, actor and singer man was Excelente! #1!, he love his culture so much, I learned a lot about the Island and their culture, the way He interact with we the visitors make us feel so welcome, he even took us to his house to feed his pig 🐖 Omar, now I know how to pronounce Kaua’i and many more words in the Hawaiian language! I recommend this tour with this tourist man to everyone, Also he is a great actor and Singer !Muchas gracias, Mahalo, thank you very much! The time with the actors at the end of this show was very kind and great to take pictures with them #1 LUAU!

We had a blast at the Luau and enjoyed the people helping us around the property as well. Everyone was friendly and always offering assistance. The show was great and kept our table entertained! We also did the train around the property which was a lot of fun and the animals stole the show.

Beautiful location.Huge venue but not packed in tight.Good views from at all seating.Excellent luau show -the show tells a interesting story and is wonderfully choreographed,exotic colors and costumes,trained dancers,great special affects and fantastic band. Ok now the reason for the 3 stars. You have to choose between watching them dig up and slicing the pig and seeing some of the dancing as they are in separate areas. Then when the luau show starts they are sending tables to the buffet line so you miss some early parts of the show. The food selection was limited and “just ok”, the desserts were really tiny like petite four size and bland. Really disappointed in the food at any cost. Green salad , bland macaroni salad, warm mixed vegetables, poi, dry ,small chicken thighs (Either adobo or teriyaki) and the pork. The pork was good. You must get seconds immediately because the very quickly put the food away. The coffee and tea are in a different area they do not point out to you so that is a second trip and missing more if the dancing. If you go for seconds or coffee you cannot quickly get back to your seat as you have to cross the show area and they will have you stand there until the dancers pass. I did not get seconds because the food was good but because I took so little the first time just to see if I liked it and I was hungry . I would definitely see the show, was professionally done , exciting ,creative ,memorable. But have dinner elsewhere before you go.
