Luau Kalamaku with Buffet Dinner & Show

Overview
Welcoming guests to Kauai since 2007, Luau Kalamaku is Hawaii's only luau show performed “in-the-round,” offering optimal views of the stage. Witness the unearthing of the pig from the traditional imu (underground oven) and enjoy a hula lesson. A craft fair featuring unique items by local artisans awaits on the sprawling lawn. Feast on a delicious buffet of local and familiar favorites and enjoy a Mai Tai from the open bar. The 45-minute main show tells the amazing story of the ancient Hawaiian legend of Kalamaku “child of the new land." Through laughter, fear, seduction and fire, a new legacy is created, born from the cherished seeds of their ancestors. The theatrical luau show culminates with a fantastic fire dream featuring fire poi balls and traditional fire knife dancing.

We enjoyed a great evening out at a very entertaining Luau. We took advantage of the shuttle ride offered for a fee. We have been to several Luau's on Maui in the past, and this one was better than most, It was held indoors and featured assigned seating, an open bar and a very good show. The buffet was very good.

We have been to quite a few luaus all a little different. The food was typical for a buffet luau and we liked it. We really did enjoy the show as it told a story of a family while showing the traditional luau show. It was a very enjoyable evening.

We attended 2 luaus while on Kauai. They were both pleasant and each had elements that made them unique. There wasn’t a significant difference in the talent or the food but the overall experience was quite a bit better at Kalamaku! Assigned seating rather than a cattle call, a central stage without having to move to a different building, a variety of quality entertainment from start to finish, and a very heartwarming story told with traditional dance! Had we not opted for the second luau at Kalamaku we would have missed one of the best events of the entire trip!!
