Make close contact with these gentle and lovable creatures in one of the largest winter gathering sites for manatees in Florida. Observe manatees as they swim all around you with some of them curious enough to come close to your kayak. In the summer month we paddle up to the spring head where you have a chance to jump into the crystal clear spring to cool off and to explore the aquatic life living in the spring.
Our tour groups are always small. We never take more than 5 people on a tour to provide a personalized experience that prioritizes quality and safety. All of our tour guides are professionally trained with a love to share with you their knowledge, that will turn a wonderful trip into an unforgettable, inspiring adventure.

It is recommended you wear quick dry clothes and water/river shoes
We recommend you bring a swim suit, warm wool or fleece top (winter), waterproof rain jacket or poncho, sun protection (sunhat, sunglasses, sun screen), a camera, and a towel to dry off afterwards.
There is no restroom at the meeting location. The last public restroom is at Valentine Park (1511 W French Ave, Orange City, FL 32763) about a mile before you arrive the meeting location. We recommend you stop there before your tour.

We saw manatees eating water lettuce, and seeing all the different birds. It was a fun experience , went with my youngest adult daughter, my first time ever kayaking. Our guide Astrid was excellent, very knowledgable.

My friends and I booked the Manatee Discovery Tour with Venture Outdoors and we got the best tour possible! Astrid is the kindest and most helpful tour guide you can imagine with a great knowledge of everything animals, plants and nature in general. We were not very experienced with kayaking but Astrid helped us out with endless patience and kindness. We got way more than we expected including a beautiful kayaking route throught the most beautiful sights, a delicious lunch by the water and a refreshing swim around manatees. This tour has all you could wish for but if you have the chance to book any tour with Astrid do yourself a favour and don't miss out!

This was a fabulous, relaxing afternoon tour on the river!! We got to swim in the clear water and even swam past a manatee. We saw tons of wildlife, including gators, birds, turtles, fish, and even armadillos! Our tour guide, Astrid, was extremely informative and made the entire experience amazing. She was absolutely wonderful and we highly recommend!! 10/10
